"the Horrorpunk scene (in Germany) is very familiar..  it´s like we are all related..  of course, you have 1 or 2 uncles or aunts that you don´t like that much, but still, it´s all family"

Review: Dr Hell - Drunken Zombies

In the last two years, Dr. Hell evolved from being "just a little ghoul" to one of the best german horrorpunk bands. With their second full-length album Drunken Zombies, they continue to bring the "punk" into horrorpunk. But while the band kept their humor in the lyrics, the music definitely changed. Compared to their debut, Drunken Zombies has more energy and sounds a bit heavier and snottier. you can hear on this album that, thanks to many live shows and partys, Dr. Hell grew as a band.... but still delivers raw punkrock and drunken fun for all you undead listeners out there.

"Musically [Horrorpunk] is all over the place, from metal to 50's doo-wop, pop-punk to hardcore punk, it's just important that element of horror is there"

[how to describe horrorpunk?] "Evil yet sensitive? Melodic yet hardcore? Elvis yet not fat? Each band has their own take on it and I love it all"

"horror doesn't necessarily mean 'blood and guts' or even death. horror is an emotion that, normally, doesn't get exorcised that much. that's why it's so powerful."

Interview with Silpha & The Corpseboners

Silpha and the Corpseboners are a new horrorpunk band that recently released their first full length album “Agony & Ecstasy”. The band is definitely one of a kind in the scene: not only do they have female vocals but they also add new elements to the basic recipe for horrorpunk songs. The music is disturbing to some, refreshing to others, but 100 percent worth a listen. So we met with Silpha and the Corpseboners to get a little look behind their adventurous minds and introduce to you the four guys from hell of Germanys suburbs.
